Your city or county can demonstrate the importance of music to the culture and economy of your community, and illustrate the community’s commitment and support for music, artists, and businesses by becoming a Certified Kentucky Music Friendly Community.
This designation encourages local communities to share resources, increase opportunities for Kentucky artists and businesses, make a public commitment to supporting and growing music in the community, and bring together all facets of the music industry – artists, venues, festivals and related businesses.
This Governor’s Office of Music program, as with other initiatives in the office, is dedicated to supporting the music industry in Kentucky, bolstering live music, promoting the musical legacy of the Commonwealth and our communities, generating opportunities for artists, businesses and workers, boosting economic development, and supporting policy and efforts that support live music.
